Description
Description: Jerry, a theater enthusiast, sneaks out to Ford theater. On this particular evening, Jerry witnesses a murder and saves the life of the President at the same time.

Summary
Summary: Jerry Carney was fascinated by the theater. Life there was colorful, brash, and bold—everything that life at home with his widowed mother wasn’t. This evening he’d slipped out his bedroom window while his mother, who’d just come home from a day of cleaning other peoples’ houses, was next door complaining to her neighbors about her miserable life. Jerry felt he was owed some free time. He went to Ford theater to see the play taking place. The actor he was looking forward to meeting was supposedly sitting with President Lincoln, his wife Clara Lincoln and Major Rathbun. As Jerry went to seek out the actor, he sees John Wiles Booth heading toward Lincoln with a gun. Jerry screamed murderer and attempted to tackle him to the ground. Getting everyone's attention the immediately rushed towards Booth. They managed to save Lincoln but unfortunately his wife Clara was shot in the head before Booth was taken down. Jerry was recognized as a hero and joined the army to fight for freedom of the slaves in the south.

Excerpt
Excerpt: Sickened by the sight, Jerry turned away and looked at Lincoln. The president was pale with shock and looking at his wife. Her eyes were wide open and there was a bloody hole in the middle of her forehead. Booth had missed Abraham Lincoln but had murdered Mary Todd Lincoln.
