Executive Summary: In response to an increasing problem of youth violence, the Wayne County Office on Violence Reduction, in conjunction with the Detroit Public Schools, piloted a conflict resolution program in several Detroit middle schools. Using the Violence Prevention Curriculum for Adolescents developed by Deborah Prothrow-Stith, the Wayne County Office on Violence Reduction introduced this program with the intention of establishing ongoing conflict resolution programs in all of the middle schools in the Detroit Public School system and throughout Wayne County.
